The Agriturismo (a combination of the Italian words for agriculture and tourism) Poggio di Sotto comprises two farmhouse buildings in the typical Florentine style, offering guests a warm, relaxed welcome and a quality service with every comfort. It is located in Galliano, in the heart of the Mugello, and has a stunning view of the valley around Bilancino Lake.


The rooms

 

The rooms rooms of the Agriturismo Poggio di Sotto are designed to create a relaxing, welcoming setting. The 9 rooms suit every need and allow guests to unwind and enjoy the atmosphere of the countryside in the Mugello.


The “Ribottini” farmhouse

 

A traditional stone country house surrounded by nature, equipped with a kitchen, fireplace and 14 beds. Ideal for families with children, who can play in the garden in front of the farmhouse, or for small groups of friends looking to rest far from traffic and noise.


Meeting Room

 

The Agriturismo has a large, welcoming function room, suitable for business meetings or training courses and events. Coffee-breaks and work lunches can be organised and will be served by our restaurant, Casa di Caccia.

Guided tours

 

The Agriturismo Poggio di Sotto offers guided tours for children and adults to the farm’s organic stables where cows and calves live and graze.

We organise horse riding both for experts and beginners. An exciting experience – you can enjoy a packed lunch up in the hills and mountains or stop at one of the bothies or mountain huts along the route.

Hiking trails

 

On your own or with our guides, you can discover the beauty of the mountains and the valley. Along the Via degli Dei trail (the “Path of the Gods” in Italian), you will cross our organic fields and stables.

Bike trails

 

There are many mountain bike and cycling trails throughout the Mugello. The area around Bilancino Lake is flat, making it perfect for beginners; we recommend the Giogo, Futa and Colla passes to the more experienced.

The WWF Oasis of Gabbianello (25 hectares) is nestled in a fascinating landscape, surrounded by woods and organic fields, on the shores of Bilancino Lake (500 metres from the Agriturismo).

Mugello Circuit

 

The Mugello circuit (just a few km from the Agriturismo) is a racetrack that hosts the Moto GP and many other motor events. Transport services and packages for Moto Clubs and Teams can be arranged.

We provide information and organise tours to sites of historical interest and local museums (Archaeological Museum of the Upper Mugello, Museum of Pietra Serena, Museum of the Historical Landscape of the Apennines), which for the most part belong to the "Diffused Museum – Museum System of the Mugello and Florentine Mountain Area".
